Eureka Spitfire Tent – 1 Person Lightweight Backpacking Model

Model: Eureka Spitfire Tent
Type: 1 person model
Brand: Eureka

The Eureka Spitfire tent is built extremely lightweight which makes it ideal for the backpacker or hiking camper. Don’t let the appearance of the Eureka Spitfire tent put you off, it’s built for functionality and won’t win any awards for its beauty. With that said you do get a high quality tent that weighs 2 pounds and 12oz making it extremely lightweight for your backpacking travel.

The tent features a side entry and the inside is considerably roomy with 3 feet and 4 inches of center headroom. One of the really cool things about this tent is the ability to take off the rain fly and expose the mesh bug net for awesome stargazing at night. The rainfly material itself is constructed of 75 denier Storm Shield polyester and it is durable and holds up well under continual usage. The floor is made of 75 denier nylon taffeta material, and the walls are constructed of 70 denier nylon. When pitched the tent measures a total of (W x H x D) 26 inches by 42 inches by 108 inches. There’s a total of 18 square footage for the floor area.

The frame construction of the shelter is an aluminum pole frame design that uses nine millimeter DAC Featherlight 7000 series poles. The tent has a single side entry door with inside storage pocket and full front to back mesh windows. The tent is rated a three season tent and if you intend to use it in rainy weather you may want to consider a tent seam sealer to ensure the tent seams are waterproof. After a moist night out this tent can attract slight condensation on the fly that has a tendency to drip inside. Pulling the rainfly as taut as possible helps to eliminate this problem.

This is one of the most popular backpacking tents on the market. It is lightweight and easy to set up and performs well in most conditions and is a great addition to any backpackers equipment arsenal.
